| Description | The first WSF world on the African continent was conducted in Nairobi, Kenya. About 75 thousand participants attended the WSF 2007 and it held 1.300 different kind of activities: self-organised, co-organised, cultural, film and youth.
The methodology of construction of the WSF 2007 was marked by the achievement of a wide consultation on actions, campaigns and struggles that are involved in the organizations participating in the WSF. From this consultation, the nine were set general goals around which were organized various activities of the WSF 2007. Here's what they were:
1. For the construction of a world of peace, justice, ethics and respect for different espiritualidades
2. For the release of the world domain of multinationals and financial capital
3. For universal and sustainable access to the common property of mankind and nature
4. For the democratization of knowledge and information
5. For the dignity, diversity, guarantee of gender equality and elimination of all forms of discrimination
6. For the guarantee of the rights economic, social, human and cultural rights, especially the rights to food, health, education, housing, employment and decent work
7. For the construction of a world order based on sovereignty, self-determination and on the rights of the people
8. By building an economy centred on people and sustainability
9. For the construction of genuinely democratic political structures and institutions with the participation of people in decisions and control of business and public resources
Another feature of the methodology of the WSF 2007 was the definition of a fourth day of activities dedicated to the presentation and socialization of proposed actions resulting from reflections during the activities autogestionadas held in the days before. |
