| Description | The Department for International Development Cooperation, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Finland proposed to hold this workshop on North-
South Dialogue on Democracy and Globalization in Helsinki on 19-20 June 2001. The implementing agency for the workshop is the Network Institute for Global Democratization, NIGD.
The workshop is a result of discussions between researchers and civil society actors. Based on a globalist perspective, the purpose of these initiatives is to strengthen existing and create new methodologies for dialogue, cooperation and joint intervention by northern and southern states and other key political actors with the aim of nurturing and deepening of democracy at all levels including global structures. |
